Important notice for residents

                                                   09-11-2013

Residents please note:

A white Ford Transit van has been seen going around the estate with two males and one female occupant. The female occupant first looks into your sittingroom window and then knocks on your door asking if you want to sell your sittingroom suite or exchange it for a leather suite. The woman is fairly persistent in her manner and requires a firm number of 'not interested' before she moves away. The  man stay in the van while a youth (approx 17-19 years) also knocks on doors or strays to the side of the property.

Make sure all your side entrances are locked and secure. Turn on your house alarms at night and inform a member of the residents committee via text message.

New committee

Dear  Resident,

We are writing to you on behalf of the residents association to inform you of some updates relevant to the estate. Following on from a meeting held in Allenwood GAA Club on the 4th February 2013, a new committee has been formed.

See members area for details of committee.

A number of issues were raised at the meeting which was well supported by the residents; among those issues were estate maintenance, estate clean-up day, speeding issues and animal waste issues.

Estate maintenance

The estate maintenance will be €60 for this year based on the cost of getting the grass cut every second week. This is up from €50 last year, however this is unfortunately necessary as there was insufficient funds at the end of last year to get the final cut of grass done. Members of the committee will be calling around to collect money in early  March. If is more suitable and convenient we can facilitate instalments.

It was also noted that the grass was left very high after it had been cut and the grass was dumped in the wasteland beside the inside green. Both of these issues will be dealt with as it will be a condition for whatever company gets the tender for the grass cutting.

                                                             ESTATE CLEAN-UP DAY

There will be an estate clean-up day, (weather permitting) on the 2nd of March between 2pm and 6pm. We will gather on the front green where gloves will be provided. The intention is to pick up all the litter, clean the side of the roads and tend to the grass verges. All help will be greatly appreciated.

Animal waste

Another issues raised was dogs fouling green areas. As you are all aware there are a number of young families in the estate and this waste is quite hazardous. If you have a dog then please clean-up after them.

Speeding

As the estate has many young families a concern has been raised with the speed of traffic on the roads in the estate. Please be cognisant that children are playing on the roads and reduce your speed.

Meeting with developer

There is also the obvious issue of the of the unfinished nature of the estate, we hope to have a meeting with the developer in the coming months and try and progress the unsightly site issue. We will keep you updated as to progress.

A Huge Thanks!

Finally we would like to take this opportunity to thank Laura and Gavin for all the work they done last year and for their continued support.

This is our estate and the onus is on us to make it a pleasant place for ourselves and our families so all help and suggestions will be appreciated.
